Our classes are so popular because we go deeper into tai chi than most others.
Becoming a teacher with the Jade Dragon School gives you access to a wealth of knowledge and understanding. Fortunately, we don’t expect you to master all this information before you can start teaching. We have broken it down into levels. As you progress your confidence, your experience and your income will grow.
With the demand for tai chi ever increasing you’ll find much need for your services. The important aspects of being a good tai chi teacher are what kind of person you are and what kind of training you’ve had.
Ideally you’ll need to be someone who has no problems standing up in front of the class, is friendly and approachable and easy to understand.
Previous experience isn’t necessary. There are no age barriers either. I’m happy to take retirees who would like to develop their skills, help others and earn some extra money.

How much can I earn?
To begin with as a Level One Instructor you will earn a flat rate fee. No matter how many or few people are in the class you will earn a guaranteed £25 per session, even if there aren’t enough people there to cover costs.
Once you’ve achieved Level Two you will earn a percentage of the profits from the school. So the more people there the more you earn. You could, potentially earn £60 or more per session.
How do I get qualified?
You learn all you need to know at home, in your own time from our online teacher training course.
The course costs just £119 for a year’s access although you should be able to get through it much faster than that.
Once you have completed the course you will be tested on your skills and knowledge and your ability to teach. You will be helped and guided to acquire the skills necessary to be a great teacher.
Then you will be put in front of 2-3 existing classes to see how you cope and how they respond to you. If all goes well we’ll set up your first new class.
What will I learn and be able to teach?
The Level One online course contains 8 sections. Background information, warm up exercises, main principles, basic skills, half the tai chi form and teaching skills.
The Level Two course contains the other half of the form and more advanced skills and knowledge.
For those keen to learn more there will be other, more specialised courses and workshops available.
What support is available?
I will always be on hand via email or WhatsApp or through one to one sessions to help you through your journey.
