Here are a few of our many excellent reviews.

Learn the form

I teach the Yang style 37 step short form. This is one of the most widely practiced forms in the world and for good reason.
It develops your body, mind, posture, breathing and energy in many different ways but without being too long.

Understand Qigong

Qigong is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves strengthening and revitalising the body through postures and movements designed to increase your flow of internal energy.
Most people learn to feel this energy the first time they try it but for those who are very tense it may take a few sessions to relax enough.

Loosening exercises

Few people move their body enough so we always start with loosening exercises. You’ll be amazed at how much tension drops out of your body in just a few minutes.
You’ll often feel completely transformed when you’re not fighting yourself with every move you make.

About the teacher

I’m Paul Chapman and I’ve been teaching the Chinese arts of Tai Chi, Qigong and Kung Fu for 25 years and studying them for nearly 40 years.

When you’re looking for a tai chi teacher depth of knowledge is so important. Without that you’re just doing slow motion movements and getting very little benefit from it.

I will teach you the lesser-known principles and shortcuts that will dramatically improve the ways you hold and move your body. These aren’t skills you will learn in most tai chi schools. Unfortunately, most instructors now gained a teaching certificate after just a few hours training so their level of knowledge is very shallow indeed.

Apart from my classes I also run retreats and offer personal training. I’ve written books on stress and kung fu and am a Sports Therapist.

In short if you want to learn real tai chi then find a school that has a teacher who has the skills and the willingness and approachability to help you reach your goals.
