We are one of the very few schools in the country that teach real, authentic kung fu and teach you how to use every element of it. Because of this places in our school are sought after. So we only accept new members at certain times of the year through a beginner’s introduction course.

Eight Animal Kung Fu Styles

Yu Lung Chuan teaches eight different animal styles. These are the tiger, leopard, monkey, crane, eagle, mantis, snake and dragon.
Each one trains your mind and body in different ways and you learn to take on the spirit of the animal and move and fight in so many different ways. There is no aggression as it’s all about balance.

Authentic Training

So much martial arts these days is shallow. It has little in the way of history and structure and almost no knowledge of the biomechanics of how to generate maximum power with no effort.
Our training comes from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in South West China. Traditional martial arts has been practiced there for centuries and although the training temples have gone we keep the skills and traditions alive.

About the teacher

The course is run by Paul Chapman who has been studying the Chinese arts of Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qigong for 40 years and teaching them for 25 years.

When you’re looking for a martial arts teacher depth of knowledge is so important. Too many teachers now have little real training and set up their own school just to make money. There is nothing to stop them giving themselves whatever titles they like and ripping people off.

Apart from his classes Paul Chapman also run retreats and offers personal training. He’s written books on stress and kung fu, lectured in Sports Science at College level and trained as a Sports Therapist.

Shifu Paul Chapman’s skills and knowledge are way ahead of any other martial arts teacher I’ve seen and his demonstrations have to be seen to be believed
