The aim of the Jade system is to balance body, mind and emotions, to strengthen your spirit and give you the personal power to deal with life with poise and equanimity.
The first stage is physical development. Most people are unbalanced physically with relatively weak legs, overly tense hips and shoulders and a real lack of connection between the different parts of the body. Our training changes this giving you a body that is strong and flexible while teaching you how to release tension. The martial skills taught enable you to test your physical skills - the better you are able to use your legs and whole body power then the more effective the martial skills will be. The smallest person in the class should be able to take the largest person to the floor without effort and within a few short weeks of training.
All students are taught how to use the 6ft staff which is an excellent training weapon to learn. It's regular use helps enormously with coordination problems, strengthens the upper body and teaches how to flow from one move to the next without losing power.
